Peanut Butter Recall

Comments Off

ConAgra estimates the recent Peter Pan Peanut Butter recall will cost the company $50-$60million (including the Great Value recall).

Company spokesman Chris Kircher says the company still doesn’t know how much peanut butter is involved in the recall, but Kircher said peanut butter typically generates about 150 (m) million dollars in sales each year.

ConAgra chief executive Gary Rodkin told analysts at a conference in Arizona today that he is proud of the way the company responded to the peanut butter concerns. And Rodkin says he’s confident in the safety of ConAgra’s products, which include well-known brands such as Healthy Choice and Banquet.

The recall was announced because Peter Pan and Great Value peanut butter has been linked to a salmonella outbreak. Be sure not to eat these brands with the product code 2111, and keep the jar to protect your rights if you have been sick.

If you became ill after consuming contaminated peanut butter, we urge you to contact the InjuryBoard Peanut Butter Salmonella Recall hotline by calling 1-800-593-5446.
